D&D 5e is my personal favorite. The game runs fast if the game master is organized. I enjoy the classes as they don’t feel “samey” as some other systems. It really captured the game I remembered playing as I started with AD&D 2nd edition. In my experience, new players pick up the game rather easily. There is plenty of 3rd party content too. 5e is a good place for new players start. However, after checking out Shadowdark, my favorite system might change. Other systems I like are both Pathfinder 1e and 2e. The Pathfinder games are great for customization for characters. There are too many cool systems to list for my personal taste. I enjoy TTRPGs for having fun playing a game and spending time with friends.
